2025 Overseas Chinese language Media Tour Visits Neijiang

NEIJIANG, SICHUAN – May 20, 2025

From May 19 to 20, 2025 Overseas Chinese-language media delegation visited Neijiang, Sichuan Province. The event was guided by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and organized by the Neijiang Municipal Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.

A total of 18 journalists from Chinese-language media based in Russia, Spain, and other countries, along with reporters from central and provincial outlets, participated in the tour. The group visited several key sites that showcased both the rich cultural heritage and the forward-looking industry of Neijiang — including the Confucian Temple and Martial Temple in Zizhong County, Sichuan Zhongke Auge Biotechnology Co., Ltd., and the Zhang Daqian Museum.

At the Zizhong Confucian Temple, the delegation passed landmarks such as the Ink-Washing Pool, the ceremonial Huabiao columns, the Gate of Rites, and the Scholar’s Bridge. The temple’s architecture — with red walls, golden roofs, and sweeping eaves — stood as a striking testament to China’s classical heritage. A guided tour revealed the temple’s famed “Five Wonders and One Marvel.” Just 100 metres away, the Zizhong Martial Temple presented a contrasting historical site — a rare instance of twin temples facing one another, an arrangement scarcely seen across China.

The visit continued to the Zhang Daqian Museum, where journalists explored exhibitions including Southern Zhang & Northern Pu, Meditating at Dunhuang, and From Zhang to Bada. As the group made their way through the city, landmarks such as Daqian Road and Daqian Park illustrated how the legacy of this modern Chinese painting master has been fully integrated into Neijiang’s cultural identity.

“A city with deep cultural roots naturally has stronger vitality and sustainability,” one journalist commented. The delegation praised Neijiang’s efforts to blend Daqian culture with other sectors and its proactive approach to international cultural exchange, boosting the city’s visibility as the “Hometown of Zhang Daqian.”

The Zizhong cultural and tourism department also received recognition for its creative integration of design, education, and interactivity. Its work to develop the Confucian and Martial Temples and the Scholar’s Street into a distinctive cultural destination along the Chengdu–Chongqing corridor has been widely appreciated by the delegation.

In addition to its cultural assets, Neijiang is also preparing for the future through high-tech industry development. At Zhongke Auge Biotech, the delegation learned about globally leading gene-editing technologies, a symbol of Neijiang’s ambition to stake a claim in the future of health innovation.

Throughout the journey, members of the media shared their admiration for Neijiang’s cultural preservation and industrial momentum. Many expressed their intent to promote the city’s evolving story — sharing new narratives of Neijiang’s development and cultural richness with international audiences.
