300,000 Mu of Wild Cherry Blossoms Paint Xianning in Spring

On March 14, the “Cherry Blossom Rendezvous at Chibi · Fairy Mountain in Bloom” — the 2026 GexianMountain Cherry Blossom Festival — opened in radiant fashion, ushering in a grand spring cultural and tourism feast amid 300,000 mu of wild cherry blossoms in Xianning, Hubei.

Perched on the border of Chibi City and ChongyangCounty, Gexianshan’s main peak rises 642.7 meters above sea level. Amid its lush forests, 24,000 mu of original wild cherry trees thrive naturally, forming the heart of Xianning’s celebrated cherry blossom clusters. Gexianshan’s wild cherry trees in Chibi are currently at their peak, with a sea of blossoms unfurling across the mountains—truly the most enchanting time to behold them all year.

On the opening day of the Cherry Blossom Festival, a vibrant program of rural cultural performances unfolded in tandem. A rich array of artistic acts took turns gracing the stage, their lively and expressive forms bringing the scene to life. Through these vivid performances, the renewed vitality of Chibi’s countryside was showcased in full, revealing both the deep-rooted charm of its rustic cultural heritage and its distinctive, enduring allure.

To enrich the visitor experience, the event has thoughtfully curated dedicated areas for showcasing and selling local agricultural specialties, alongside tasting zones for distinctive rural cuisine. Together, they create a seamless, one-stop journey of “admiring the blossoms, savoring authentic flavors, and selecting premium local produce.” Here, visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the untamed charm of spring, while the initiative also opens broader market channels for local products, lending fresh momentum to the integrated development of rural culture and tourism.

Step into the mountain woods, and winding paths unfold amid a profusion of blossoms. Petals in shades of pale white, soft pink, and vivid rose cluster upon the branches, layered in graceful, natural harmony. As a gentle breeze stirs, shadows of flowers sway and petals drift like scattered verse—each step revealing a scene steeped in poetry.

With a flowering period of up to a month, tourists can visit at different times to admire the blossoms and savor the beauty of spring.

As the wild cherry blossoms come into bloom, Xianning’s 2026 spring flower-viewing season is set to unfold in full splendor. Adopting an integrated, citywide model of “one main municipal venue plus six county-level themed events,” the city will transcend regional boundaries to weave together its cultural and tourism resources.
