Known as the millennium-old porcelain capital, Jingdezhen welcomed guests from around the world. As the melodious opening piece, “Flowers Bloom in Flourishing Times,” played, attendees marveled at the city’s ancient elegance and the modern charm of its ceramic culture. Liu Xiaofeng, vice chairman of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, officially opened the expo. Joining him were notable figures such as Governor Ye Jianchun, Bulgaria’s ambassador to China Tehoff, Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee member Lu Xiaoqing, Zhuhai Gree Electric Chairman Dong Mingzhu, and other distinguished guests who collectively launched the opening ceremony. The event was presided over by Vice Governor Xia Wenyong.
In his address, Ye Jianchun extended a warm welcome to the guests on behalf of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee, the provincial government, and the people of Jiangxi. He emphasized General Secretary Xi Jinping’s guidance on preserving Jingdezhen’s imperial kiln relics and advancing ceramic culture. Ye highlighted the ongoing efforts to protect these millennial treasures, pass down traditional skills, revitalize Jingdezhen’s brand, and share the city’s rich history with the world. The goal is to enhance the stability, strength, innovation, and global influence of Jingdezhen’s ceramic industry, further solidifying its status as the “millennium porcelain capital.”
Ye Jianchun noted that the China Jingdezhen International Ceramic Expo, now in its 20th year, has become a key event in both the Chinese and global ceramic industries, serving as an important platform for cultural exchanges and business. He expressed hope that this year’s expo would foster deeper cooperation, highlighting opportunities in ceramics, advanced manufacturing, and cultural tourism.
During the opening ceremony, various achievements were showcased, including representative brands of Jingdezhen’s daily-use ceramics, official ceramic trade channels, accomplishments in the development of Jingdezhen’s “City of a Thousand Museums,” and the online trading platform for ceramic artworks from the Shenzhen Cultural Assets and Equity Exchange. Additionally, a contract signing ceremony took place, with speeches from Tehoff and Du Tonghe, while international sister cities sent their congratulations. After the ceremony, Liu Xiaofeng, Ye Jianchun, and other officials toured the exhibition halls, encouraging exhibitors to engage in ceramic cultural exchanges, share porcelain-making techniques, and promote their products.
