Toronto’s steak scene has once again earned international acclaim, with two of the city’s premier restaurants making The World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants 2026 list, released on March 26 by London-based Upper Cut Media House Ltd.
The annual ranking, launched in 2018 by founder Ekkehard Knobelspies, has become the definitive global guide for steak enthusiasts. This year’s edition reviewed more than 1,200 restaurants worldwide, each assessed across 29 detailed criteria including meat quality, sourcing, aging techniques, cooking methods, service, wine selection, and ambience.
Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse: No. 51 in the World
The Michelin-recognized Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse claimed the 51st spot on the global list. Located on the fourth floor of Toronto’s CIBC Square at 81 Bay Street, the restaurant is helmed by executive chef Danny McCallum and features an impressive menu that includes Wagyu and Japanese Black beef offerings.
“A sincere thank you to our remarkable team,” the steakhouse said in response to the recognition. “Grateful for the trust of our guests, partners, and community who allow us to keep refining the craft — and raising the standard.”
Linny’s: A Newcomer at No. 63
Making a stunning debut on the list, the Michelin-recommended Linny’s at 176 Ossington Avenue was ranked 63rd globally. The restaurant, led by celebrated Toronto chef David Shwartz, was praised as “one of the city’s most convincing new addresses — a restaurant that brings together craftsmanship, warmth and a modern sense of ease with real confidence.”
Canada’s Growing Steak Prestige
Beyond Toronto, Ontario’s Fat Rabbit in St. Catharines earned a spot at No. 91, while Vancouver’s Elisa at 1109 Hamilton Street ranked an impressive No. 32 — one of only a handful of Canadian restaurants in the top 40.

“The global standard continues to rise year after year,” said Knobelspies. “Great steak restaurants today are defined not only by the excellence of their product, but by consistency, character, hospitality and a deep understanding of what makes a truly memorable dining experience.”
