Huangshan, China — Nov. 15.2025
Sixteen overseas Chinese-language media organizations have launched a week-long reporting tour in eastern China’s Anhui province, aiming to document local cultural heritage and recent economic developments.
The media delegation — representing outlets from Asia, the Americas, Africa, Europe and Oceania — began its program Friday in the city of Huangshan. Participants will visit several communities across Huangshan and Xuancheng to examine Huizhou cultural sites and observe provincial initiatives in technology, industry and environmental protection.
For Cho Myung-kwon, president of The World Overseas Chinese Daily in South Korea, the trip marks his first visit to Anhui. “I hope to give overseas readers and viewers a clear picture of Anhui — its culture, its innovation, and its people,” he said. Cho added that he plans to document the province’s development through reporting, photography and video during the tour.
A representative from a Brazilian outlet noted China’s growing electric-vehicle presence in Brazil and pointed to Anhui’s rise as a major hub for China’s auto sector, particularly in the new-energy market.
Another participant, Shao said she hopes coverage generated from the trip will help overseas Chinese communities better understand recent changes in Anhui and encourage more international visitors to learn about the region.
The tour is part of a broader initiative to connect overseas Chinese media with developments in various Chinese provinces. The group will continue its reporting schedule through the coming week.
